Residence in Andorra

This type of residence is aimed at people who want to live in Andorra without having an employment contract with a company in the country.
Applicant profiles are mainly investors and professionals and entrepreneurs with international projects. Passive (non-working) residence in Andorra may also be requested for reasons of scientific, cultural or sporting interest.

How to apply for passive (non-working) residence

  • Reside in Andorra for at least 90 days a year
  • Have a valid purchase or rental property
  • Invest at least €350,000 in Andorra (whether in your own home, in companies, etc.)
  • Set up a €50,000 deposit with the Andorran Financial Authority (AFA), which will be recovered when the person leaves their country of residence.
  • Provide proof of an annual income of more than 300% of Andorra’s minimum annual salary.

Taxes in Andorra are among the lowest in Europe. For example, the personal income tax is a maximum of 10% and for incomes that exceed €40,000 per year or the property processing tax on the purchase of properties is a maximum of 4.5%.

In addition, Andorran residents are exempt from paying taxes on their companies’ dividends or from paying inheritance or inheritance taxes.
